Just to relate it to your first comment, the FAQ explains that that most writers do _not_ make six figures, that indeed a more fair assessment of writers' wages comes out to more like $30K/year. A living wage in some places, but hard to live on almost anywhere in California. More to the point, writers should be paid commensurate with the value that is produced by their work. Right now the big six media corporations don't want to pay them _at all_ for their work, when it's used on the Internet. I still think David Hyde Pierce's acceptance speech for one of his Emmy Awards, thanking the writers, was one of the best awards show speeches of all time.
